# 襯線體 Serif

襯線體可溯自古羅馬大寫字母，又被稱作「羅馬體（roman）」。據說是當時以平頭筆起草碑刻時所留下的筆端軌跡。羅馬體可依有無平頭筆書寫痕跡概分為「舊式羅馬體（ old style roman ）」 與「現代羅馬體（modern roman ）」 兩類，前者至今仍常見於書籍內文。要注意的是，中文明體雖保有筆端造型，但概念不完全與襯線體相同，不應直接類比為襯線體。
