# 字集 Character Set

為特定目的，挑選、整理出範圍限定的字表

字集是為了特定目的，收羅一定範圍、數量的字元，製成的字元集合，包含字母、符號、數字等。廣義而言，字典、教育部常用字等，都可稱為字集。

在數位時代，字集特別指數位資訊交換的文字代碼集，以及字型製作時的參考範圍。目前世界通用字集為 Unicode，大範圍收錄並定義各書寫系統、符號的資訊碼位。其他常見字集還有 Big5、Adobe Japan、JIS 等。
